The software updater detects outdated programs on the system and includes options to update all or selected programs right from the interface.
Custom scan supports selecting a folder that you want scanned, and optionally a frequency, e.g. Preset scans include scans for rootkits, removable drives, Windows system, or a full system scan. Avira Prime lists nine preset scans, some of which are run on a schedule already, and an option to create custom scans and schedule them. There is also an option to create, run and schedule scans. You can run full and quick scans on the device under virus scans. You can disable these here, but most users should leave them enabled. Protection Options displays the core protection modules Real-time protection, web protection, email protection and ransomware protection.
